Π.'; as interj. Ar. Av. 1258 εὐράξ, πατάξ.Origin: XX [etym. unknown]Etymology: Uncertain. On the formation cf. λάξ, ὀδάξ, μουνάξ, διαμπάξ a. o. (Schwyzer 620). Connected (so still Stolz IF 18, 460f.) with εὐρύς and explained as `ἐκ πλαγίου' (e. g. H.).
